GNARLYGIRL FITNESS & WELLNESS:

Mission

I help female athletes and outdoor enthusiasts build healthier relationships with food, body image, and exercise.

Why “Gnarly”?

When you hear “gnarly”, what do you think of?

01.

Typically, “gnarly” is a word associated with tasks that warrant grit, perseverance and self-determination. The road ahead won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.

02.

When most people think of what “gnarly” looks like, they envision a gnarled branch, or something that has been bruised, scarred, or broken. We all have pain points in our past. Finding the beauty in the brokenness is a large part of change for the better.

03.

When someone calls someone or something “gnarly”, it is usually referring to how it is extreme, or difficult to do, warranting respect and appreciation. You’ve already gone through so much. You are gnarly.

Healthy Lifestyles Coaching

WHAT IT IS

“Coaching is a growth promoting relationship that elicits autonomous motivation, increases the capacity to change, and facilitates a change process through visioning, goal setting, and accountability, which at its best leads to sustainable change for the good.” -Coaching Psychology Manual

A Healthy Lifestyles Coach:

  • Acts as your partner in creating your vision for wellness.

  • Brings their behavior change expertise to the table, realizing that you are an expert in your own experience, which incites an incredibly successful team.

  • Helps you find your own answers, by guiding you using motivational interviewing, and appreciative inquiry techniques.

  • Helps you be accountable for your own health.

  • Provides health & wellness advice, resources, accountability, support, and direction.

WHAT IT ISN’T

A Healthy Lifestyles Coach:

  • Will not lecture you.

  • Does not tell you what to work on.

  • Does not make goals for you.

  • Will not do all the work for you.

HOW DO YOU KNOW COACHING IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

  • You want more freedom in your life.

  • You know you could be performing at a higher level physically and mentally.

  • You want a healthier relationship with food.

  • You’re done with quick fixes and fad diets, and you want to make lasting changes.

  • You want to feel more confident.

  • You’ve realized that it’s not all about your weight, it’s about well-being.

  • You want to be less distracted and more focused.

  • You want to take charge of your health and start making changes now.

  • You want peace of mind that you're following the right program for your specific goals.

Your health is dependent on more than just the food you put in your body and the way you move your body. While these factors of health are important, there is so much more affecting your overall wellness. It’s not about the WAY you are pursuing health, it’s about the WHY.

Having a “why”, your wellness vision, is how you will achieve and maintain your desired behavior change. During our first coaching session together we will establish a wellness vision that will guide you on your journey to change. As your coach, I will be there to guide, encourage, and explore possibilities with you, as well as give expert advice and resources along the way.

“Be proud of your imperfections. That’s what makes us gnarly.”
